Csound5 rc1

SubjectCsound5 rc1
I have placed binary release candidates for csound5 for 5 cases
Csound5-i386d-rc1.tar.gz Using doubles for Pentiums etc/Linux
Csound5-i386f-rc1.tar.gz Using floats for Pentiums etc/Linux
Csound5-OSX-rc1.tar.gz Using floats for Mac OSX
Csound5-x86-64d-rc1.tar.gz Using doubles for AMD64/Linux64
Csound5-x86-64f-rc1.tar.gz Using floats for AMD64/Linux64

Other versions will follow as soon as we can arrange it.

Known bugs: loop points in aiff files are still ignored which limits
utility of loscil. This is being attacked.

These files include various additional components for python and java
interfaces etc.

Please report any problems to csound-devel@lists.sourceforge.net for
preference, or if that is inconvenient, then to me or
csound@@lists.bath.ac.uk

Preliminary measurements suggest that the 5 system is faster than 4 as
well as having a number of new opcodes and packages.

Apologies for the length of time this has taken -- about 2 years
longer than I had expected.

I can see no sign of these libraries -- basically they are not being built

Mainly because opcodes were amalgamated without discussion or

I saw the file and moved it to the release group

So where should they go?

Fantastic! Thanks John (and Victor for OS X build) !!!

I will be trying the OS X package as soon as I get back from holiday
traveling ...

A couple of questions for now:

Were the CVS sources tagged so that rc1 can be built on other platforms with
identical sources?

Should there be a source code package in this release?

Thanks again! Merry Christmas to those whom celebrate it and happy
holidays/new year to everyone!

I am hoping that a new release or release candidate will me ready in a
few days. The main purpose is not to find bugs in the system, but to
refine the way in which it is distributed. For that reason I do not
see any real purpose in a source package to accompany the binaries.
