I brought this topic up a while back. I would love to have csound on a mobile platform.
The main problem is that the iphone (ARM9) does not have any floating point registers.
You would need a version of csound that used fixed point numbers. If someone 
could get that compiled, I would be all over it. Does anyone know of such a version?

I just installed Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.04.1) on a eeepc 701 (4G SSD 
card) following the hack described here:
http://wiki.eeeuser.com/getting_ubuntu_8.04_to_work_perfectly

I then installed csound from the debian packages (using synaptic) and it 
runs just fine!

The whole installation takes 2.3 G for / (ext3), 256 M for swap, leaving 
1G for working. It is possible to gain more space by removing Gimp, 
OpenOffice etc. if they're not needed.
Very nice little machine!
