As a solution, perhaps two or more copies of the same CSD would
allow two or more instances.

It might be the case that for VST, you can only have 1 instance of
each uniqueID effect. I don't know as I don't use VST (it's not FOSS!!!
and steinberg should be ashamed of themselves for not making it
so!).
