I think http://www.csounds.com/resources/downloads/ has broken links to
SourceForge. When I follow the links to download the current version of
Csound, I get an Http 403 Forbidden error from SourceForge. I've learned
that Csound recently moved to Github. Perhaps, the links on the Csound
download page need to be updated to point to Github.

I'd like to get prebuilt binaries for Windows 7, but I can't find them on
GitHub. The GitHub INSTALLING file,
https://github.com/csound/csound/blob/develop/INSTALLING, says the prebuilt
binaries are on Source Forge. The INSTALLING file also points to
http://csounds.com/manual/html/BuildingCsound.html which also points to
Source Forge.

I assume the Csound project has been removed from SourceForge because Csound
is now hosted on GitHub. If this is the case, perhaps it would make sense
to temporarily reinstate at least the Csound binaries on SourceForge until
all the links can be fixed.

We moved to Github very recently. We are still using Sourceforge for
file releases at this time, so that information is accurate. The
files for release are available at:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound6/Csound6.02/

with the Windows release link at:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound6/Csound6.02/Setup_Csound6_6.02.0.exe/download

We're working to update all relevant information; thanks for pointing
out the discrepancy with INSTALLING. I have modified the file as
such:

https://github.com/csound/csound/blob/develop/INSTALLING

Steven & jpff,

Thank you for your help. When I click this link
https://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound6/Csound6.02/, I get:

Fortunately, when I click
http://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound6/Csound6.02/Setup_Csound6_6.02.0.exe/download,
it gives me the same error but it also prompts me to download the binary.
As shown below:

So, my problem is resolved. I've downloaded and installed Csound. But
still, something strange is happening when I try to access SourceForge.

Steven & jpff,

I have an update. I tried accessing the Source Forge links from my
employeer's laptop over VPN. So, I'm using a different computer, coming
from a different IP address, and I'm using a different browswer (Internet
Explorer this time). Still, I get the 403 Forbidden errors when I try to
access Source Forge.

If you are not seeing these errors when you click the SourceForge links, you
might try loging out of Source Forge, using a different browser, or wiping
the cookies and cache in your browser and see if the problem occurs for you.

There seems to be something wrong with the SF csound site. I just
tried accessing it while not being logged in and it gave me the same
error.

I just changed the permissions and I can now view the site without
being logged in. My guess is the there was an error in changing of
permissions to try to close down parts of the SF site that were
migrated to Github. I think things should now be working for
downloads and viewing the SF site.

I'll discuss with John and Victor how to address the old git repos,
trackers, and wiki.

Thanks for letting us know about this.
