I stumbled across a possible bug with named instruments: I have an
instrument named

instr SfPlay

(...)
endin

which takes a string as p4 (using strget). The score line reads

i "SfPlay" 0 0.1 "coltranem.wav" 1 0.5 0 2

resulting in this error:

           B  0.000 - note deleted. instr coltranem.wav undefined

is this normal behaviour? No such problem is the score line does not
have another string in it.
