| Please do not introduce unnecessary complexity. SConstruct builds the jars fine right now. No need for another tool that does the same thing.
As someone who has used Ant, make, and scons professionally, I can only say I find scons vastly simpler to use.
I see no problem with distributing Java jars, either. At some point, there will be users of the jars that are not Java programmers (perhaps the CSDPlayer will turn into a full-featured GUI front end; after all, Java is cross-platform).
