Csound is still being built with MinGW.

It is only portaudio_x86.dll (used by the rtpa.dll audio I/O module) and fluidsynth.dll (used by the fluid opcodes) that are built with Visual C++. That is because this software, as downloaded, comes with Visual C++ project files and does not as easily configure or build with MinGW.

Visual C++ Service Pack 1, which introduced this problem, is recent.
