[Cs-dev] building the RC1 release packages

Since there seems to be trouble building all the stuff that we'd like to be released, I would suggest that the building of RC1 should be delegated to different people. Would this suit: 1. Linux (32-bit machines): Istvan (I am not sure how we could provide binaries for most common flavours of Linux, but perhaps Istvan can coordinate a group of volunteers to generate packages for them...) 2. Linux (64-bit machines): John [perhaps a limited release with whatever can be built] 3. Windows: either Istvan or Michael (a GUI installer would be good) 4. OSX: myself (already done). I know Istvan has posted Windows and Linux releases, but I think we need to bring these under the RC1 umbrella and into sourceforge. I would be keen to have everything released together, and generally, wherever possible, have a similar distribution content across platforms. What do you (all of you) think? I have 32bit systems (both float and double) built for Linux, and a double/64bit system. I am still debugging the installation program which I rewrote and then got disturbed before checking it. That does not preclude a .rpm system, but i am not convinced by them. Windows is the issue to me. A GUI installer could be constructed from the linux one with little effort (when I have fixed the bugs) ==John ffitch ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. I think that double and float are separate packages in the release. In effect there are 8 versions -- (float,double)x(linux,windows,osx,linux64) At present no examples in the package -- what did you have in mind? ==John ffitch ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
