Perhaps it is the port, in the case 2401. It is possible sourceforge is 
not using that port at present.

It has always and continues to work for me with the following 
commandline:

localhost:~$ cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sf.net:/cvsroot/csound co 
-P csound5

in doing the scons build i get this at the very start:

d179-52:~/CsoundCVS/csound5 jeanpiche$ /usr/local/bin/scons useALSA=0  
useJack=0
Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "/usr/local/bin/scons", line 143, in ?
     import SCons.Script
ImportError: No module named SCons.Script



everything seems to be in place WRT libs etc...
any ideas?

Yes I do recall doing the

python setup.py install

We installed on two computers (both PBooks G4 -- 10.4) with the same 
result...

I followed Pat Pagano's instructions to the letter...
Has someone built from that roadmap with success?
