Subject[Csnd] mono signal in a stereo field
There is a commercial plugin called Flux, intended for post production. It
has a very long link:
https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/schoeps_mono_upmix.html?utm_source=Plugin+Alliance+News&utm_campaign=322d29e36f-black-friday-sale-2018-week2-181108_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_9ddd768161-322d29e36f-71948161&ct=t%28black-friday-sale-2018-week2-181108_COPY_01%29&fbclid=IwAR0TZdpOp60W1sf6a8QQexsWfFK69riT0Oggc_VA3eDj0tetCD7pvlN5ows

It takes in a mono signal and is able to create width and depth within a
stereo field and even within LCR. I guess that it should be possible to use
Ambisonics to expand this even further to a 5.1 sound field...

The effect of Flux is: the mono signal gets a place amongst the other sound
sources in a stereo field and gets a direct relation to the other sounds
instead of staying a lonely and sharply focused mono signal. It blends in
with the others.

I was thinking about constructing a Blue effect - so a Csound effect module
for working with Blue - to mimic this effect of blending in.

Possibly the best way to start to achieve the effect of the Flux plugin
using Csound code would be by using a stereo impulse. The impulse should
have a spatial stereo characteristic and sound 'as neutral to the ear' as
possible. Perhaps the subtle use of EQ could divide the mono signal into
segments so that can can be divided over the stereo field a bit.

But perhaps someone else is having another idea on how to achieve the
effect?
Any thoughts on this are welcome.
