I apologize if you all have been over this. I want to make sure I understand right, because I'm still reading things that don't jibe on the net. Csound extended can host VST plugins on Debian-based OSs through Michael Gogins' binaries. As far as I know, there is no other binary version of Csound on the net that can host VST plugins... right? And as this VST support was for VST2, which Steinberg has forced into obsolescence, there is also no *source* for Csound that can host VST plugins unless one already has the VST2 SDK. Just checking. Thank you. Chuckk |

Any traces of VST were completely removed from Csound as we got served with a takedown notice by github. Following which, trying to nuke it, we got our git history in such disarray that we spent months trying to fix it.
Summary: we will never touch anything remotely connected with VST again, not even with a bargepole.

If someone finding this in the future is looking for Csound with VST support, I happen to have found a Windows installer on one of my hard drives for CsoundVST with the VST opcodes, version 6.03.2. I don't have a server (freedom costs a buck-o-five), but if you need this, email me.
I've looked through it and the only licensing info I see is GPL, so I
don't think there is any problem with me offering to share it. If I am wrong, I'll withdraw the offer. I don't know which files attracted the fury of Big BrotherST; if they are somehow in the files included here, I'll happily pass on the rest of the files without them, if anyone wants it. It is very interesting and appears to work OK, though I haven't tested it thoroughly and I have to change my own projects away from Csound. IEM has an external for Pd and Sc called vstplugin~ which is still being maintained and will supposedly soon have VST3 as well, if that helps anyone. I know, it's Pure Data, but freedom costs a buck-o-five. -Chuckk On Sat, Mar 9, 2019 at 1:48 AM Chuckk Hubbard <badmuthahubbard@gmail.com> wrote:
