Hi all! As promised as per a discussion with Oevyind, here is a clip(https://vimeo.com/494277470) of an installation concept I've been working on for some time.

The Partikkel opcode parameters are being modified by movements detected by a webcam in Pure Data, then the resulting audio modifes an object created in Blender. I've also created an audiovisual reactive synthesiser with Partikkel, but I need to actually film myself doing the movements etc😅. Enjoy your weekend all! Tarek Wayne |

That's a heavy experience! Sounds really forceful when I blast it on my speakers. Great work! Jason On Sat, Feb 27, 2021 at 8:02 AM Tarek Wayne <wstlopez@gmail.com> wrote:

Impressive! How do you interface with Blender? Via OSC? Richard On 27/02/2021 15:02, Tarek Wayne wrote:

Thanks, much appreciated!! I imported the "naked" Blender object to another program! Then I used cableaudio and loopmidi to get the sound and messages from Pure Data(with the Csound6 object) into! Blender has this audiovis plug in made by a 3rd party, but I wasn't successful in trying to get it to work. And Jason, thanks for chiming in!! I haven't heard it on larger speakers yet, but I always try to make sure the frequency range is filled out and with a decent rms level, so I guess it worked!! Thanks for the interesting insight into your work, Tarek. It is intense and powerful. Nice touch. What mappings do you use from movement/webcam to audio synthesis parameters? all best Øyvind lør. 27. feb. 2021 kl. 18:59 skrev Tarek Wayne <wstlopez@gmail.com>:

Hi Oevyind! Sorry for misspelling your name🙄🙏 I wrote it by memory😅 Kdur, Krate and Kspd(if I remember correctly) are controlled by the x axis of the webcam, the y axis triggers a noise layer with effects. In another versions, the y axis triggers another Partikkel layer. You sent me an example with one instance triggering 2 sound files a while back, for some reason I went with 2 separate instances, can't remember why lol. Thanks for your interest!! No worries with the name spelling :-) I also use two alternate spellings (Oeyvind, and Øyvind) depending on how concerned I am about the Ø being garbled. Thanks for the mapping info, but.. I'd be interested in more detail. Like, *what* in the x-axis of the image is used? The position of some element?, color?, shape or pattern? Or do I misunderstand what you mean by x-axis of the webcam(?) all best Oeyvind man. 1. mar. 2021 kl. 19:03 skrev Tarek Wayne <wstlopez@gmail.com>:

Lol, well people choose to spell my name whatever manner they see fit, Tarik, Tareq, Tariq. Welcome to the exotic/obscure(depending on culture) name club! As for the mappings, sorry, I think people are in my head when I write! I use my hand or body for motion detection(using the [pix_blob] object in PD), hand from very close distances or body from afar(3-4m). My coding skills are subpar or below, so I didn't try to get Pure Data to recognise specific body parts, I thought about using the Kinect, but they are hard to come by and I'm not sure what the guarantee is I'd get it to play nicely with Windows 10 + PD etc. I hope that was relatively informative. Cheers man, I'll post some demo vids(of me actually "playing it") of another version incarnated as an audiovisual synth when I finally get around to recording it😅 Tarek Wayne On Mon, 1 Mar 2021, 23:23 Oeyvind Brandtsegg, <obrandts@gmail.com> wrote:
