Source code for programming CL's SB soundcards' in C is difficult to come
by ( @ least chip level programming C source )  I've done register level
C functions for OPL 3 ( & 4)FM synthesizer .  The info at times for programming
this chips memory ( its a WOM [write-only mem.] ) was flawed for certain types
of 1-op voices & it took me weeks ( & a phone call to Japan or Singapore )
to diagnosis the bug ( unfixable )  !! My suggestion to you:  while fustrating
U just have tobe persistant when doing low level programming + getting engineering
white papers that are often  translated from Japenese to English ( Yamaha
to their credit where very helpful with the OPL 3 tech info, sometimes CL
