| Well, whatever the limitations of standard MIDI are, I feel that it suits
my personal needs. If a new standard emerges within a few years, then so
be it, but if it doesn't, I'm happy with MIDI. On that note, I'd like to
ask some questions pertaining to Csound and MIDI.
If I am using the MIDI commands in Csound to trigger my instruments in
real time with a MIDI controller (Roland GI10 a/d converter in conjunction
with a GK2A guitar pickup), I need a powerful computer, right? Does
anybody have experience with PC's? I thought about getting a Mac G3 300,
but I'm afraid the realities of my financial situation won't allow that.
I think I may get a Pentium II 300, 64 RAM. Should this be adequate for
what I've described? I've experimented on a Mac 6500 (which is
ssllloooww) and an 8500, which did okay for simple stuff but might not be
good for really cool stuff. Any advice would be appreciated.
