I'm new to the group, and although this is a little off the topic; Does anyone know of a physical modeling software program for the pc, based in Win95 or WinNT4 that has the flexibility of Modalys (MAC), or does IRCAM?(I Believe, I'm not a MAC user-hate them) have the corner on the market. Ideally, I would like one as powerful as the Yamaha VL1, but software driven on a PC platform, like SynthBuilder on the NEXT. I've used the virtual samplers, virtual sequencers, including an object oriented software synthesis program called Vwaves, similiar to the patchworks interface. Vwaves is of course not as powerful as Csound/Patchworks. Respond if you know. sounds like you should not hate them if you need the machine to do what you want.... Who really cares what computer you use as long as it gets the job done. Sure: if you have a C++ compiler try: http://www.music.princeton.edu/PSK/ and get Perry Cook's physical modeling code: I hear it works in Weendoze (shudder). Even has a Tk G.U.I. as a demo: should be able to get that working with WinTk. Why are you using an inferior operating system, anyway? Unix. The one and only ;') okokokokokokokokokok....good luck! (Say hey to Marc...went to school w/ him.) CharlieB |
