Actually, I prefer to do both; it's because the specs haven't been read
(or sometimes deliberately disregarded) that some programs don't handle
WAV files properly! Cool Edit96 in particular handled WAV files very
badly indeed, (you could crash it very easily) so I am wary of basing
anything I do on what they do! Anyway, this is useful information. If
anyone has a short WAVE file with sample loop data in it, I would be
happy to receive it, inspect its chunk usage, and report back.
