Subject"Dynamic Controls" in last releases
Hi!
Can anyone explain what is the "Dynamic Controls" in last releases of
winsound.exe?
I did not find anything about it in Help v. 3.493.

And another question: is the MKGRAPH.EXE still in csound_new.zip?
(seems it does not)

Thanks,

Illegal Art invites all audio artists to submit material for consideration
for our third compilation project, Commercial Exploits (tentative title).
As with our previous projects, Deconstructing Beck and Extracted Celluloid,
all submissions must use only sound/samples from the prescribed source.
All tracks on this compilation will be made entirely from music, voices,

Actually it is 32bit DOS and hence the need for Dos extender.

Sorry if I omitted this code; actually it is really code in progress
and just commenting out all calls etc would make more sense. On the
other hand it does remind me to tidy this up.

Yes, me too ! I was just on the verge of writing one in PERL.
If anyone discovers this program, I would be grateful.

there is a program that does this on macintosh. I have _no_ idea if it i=
s
still available anywhere, but I rely on it to make midi output from lisp
programs. the format it can convert back and forth to is a text format,
numbers delimited by tabs, (much like a spreadsheet file). It has no
source, but is easy to use, and works in 7.5.5. If anyone wants it (it i=
s
freeware) i can hqx it and mail it to you, or put it on some webspace.

Hello !
I have executables running under DOS or Windows 95 which able convert
text-to-midi.
Here are brief description by author - Piet van Oostrum.
I think You can reach him directly - piet@cs.ruu.nl , because version I have
is dated by 8/25/1992,
so more advanced version is quite possible.
And I can mail 'old version'.

Nikolay Roubanov.

It's the phase difference between two or more signals that is of
interest. It is used by the ear to do all kinds of localization
(someone on the list will be able to explain that a little bit better)
and as a result can be used to give an impression of height. A constant
difference of 90 degrees gives you a cosine for every frequency
component (i.e., sine) in your signal. As was pointed out to me by Sean
Costello, this has been used for analog frequency (pitch) shifters.

May I atempt to explain about the +- flags? In an e-discussion about
the proliferation of flags in different versions of Csound some of us
decided/discussed using +- for build-specific flags so they would not
confuse the general system.
We have 2 or 3 PC variants, 2 macintosh, XTC, 2 Linux and a SGI/SUN
to control now.

I have replaced the csound_src.zip file with one containing the
cslider code (unfinished as it is). There are some other minir
changes (attempts to fix wgbow for example) but I think nothing of
importance.

References:

The dynamic controls are an as yet unfinished set of on-screen sliders
which are not in any way related to MIDI. The opcode control causes
the display of a slider panel, and it can read or set the sliders as
it synthesises. It is not documented as I am not totally happy with
it. It seems to work except sometimes panels disappear unexpectedly.
I need to work over it a bit, as well as consider how to do the same
for Unix/X

...and MKGRAPH has not worked since I changed from Zortech C to
Watcom. It needs a function to determine the mouse position, and
there just does not seem to me one in Watcom's library. the sources
remain in case anyone who understands graphics better than I (ie
almost anyone) cares to fix it
