SubjectRe: [OT] linux in austin [OT]
actually, i found an iso image of the mandrake distro, which is
basically redhat with some additional stuff. the redhat dl got messed
up by being on a windows partition. i am now writing from a linux
machine! only i am having a problem with sound. if there are any
redhat/mandrake 6.0 gurus out there, please send me a message. i can
only get by sb AWE64 to play sound when i 'cat blah.au > /dev/audio' or
when the kde sound event manager play a sound (startup, shutdown,
etc.). any audio programs that i have tried dont make any sound, and
sometimes give strange errors.

:P
