float vs. double speed

| I ran a little test to get some speed numbers. And the floats won; about 2 - 2.5 % faster. The test was writing 10000 buffers full of sound using an interpolating oscillator. This is on a Mac 7500 PPC at 100Mhz without a cache. I admit suprise because I had been told that doubles were faster, but I guess not.
