Hi,

There still seems to be some sort of bug or problem with Winsound.  I
finally retrieved an old version of Winsound from one of my computers and
ran some more benchmarks:

Version              Bach
Winsound 3.47        35"
DirectCsound 3.511    5.77"
Winsound 3.511      162"
Consound 3.52         ~6"
Winsound 3.52       165"
Winsound recompile  165"

Apparently not everyone has this problem:

The problem is apparently in the Windows specific part of the code.  My own
recompiles of winsound also run slowly.  I have not been able to figure out
what is wrong in the code.  I am running on a PII 300 Win95.  Checking CPU
usage indicates the CPU is maxed out while Csound is running.
