Thank you Mike, Scott, and Paul for your responses to my sound play 
challenges on MkLinux.  Those of us who are trying to live double lives as 
MACabees and Penguins make a small community, indeed. (Most who buy Mac are 
trying to avoid the command line environment).

Tried installing snd-3-1.ppc.rpm
. . .but it needs lib.guile.so.4

I have a guile version installed, so I tried upgrading (installing)
guile-1.3-6.ppc.rpm
. . .but, it needs lib.dl.so.2, libc.so.6 and libm.so.6
I have lib.dl.so, libc.so and libm.so

So I downloaded (almost 8 MB)  glibc-2.1.xx.ppc.rpm (sorry, scribbled notes)
the first rpm command unpacked the sources. When I did the rpm -bi [build] 
command, I got the error
Unkown field: Autoreq: false

My first thought was, "I need to upgrade rpm or redhat". (mine is version 
5.0).
Does this all make sense, and am I drawing the correct conclusion?
I'm sure either download will not be small, so I'd like to think that I'm on 
the right track to a solution while the bytes zip across the wire.
