I'm a DJ from Ft. Collins, CO. who is interested in trying my hand at 
composing.  I was given a recomendation for Csound software and was told 
it was very powerfull.  

I visited the ftp site at bath (i forget the exact address offhand), and 
downloaded what I thought was the exe file I would need from 
/platforms/win95/bin (I believe).  

I got the file and uncompressed it, when I tried to run it it wouldn't 
work.  It occured to me that I might need a C compiler to set it up and 
run it.  If I'm correct could someone please refer me to a ftp that 
possibly has a shareware/freeware version of one?  If I happen to be 
mistaken then could I get the path for the program that will run in 
Win95, or if I have to then I'll runit in DOS.
