500Meg file on the
disk.

I've asked IBMs hdd techsupport, but havent recived any answers.

I've tried almost all the possible configurations for modem and sb, but
with no luck.

I've posted to several newsgroups and received almost nothing.

SO, if there are brave souls, who has any, even the slights cue, please
email me. The main reason I bought a bigger HD was to get space for
digitized sounds from csound. Now it seems, that I have to live without
a soundcard.

The soundcard works, just before installing the new HD, I listened to
real audio files form thr net. The modem is brand new and works fine. 
There must be an undocumented discrepancy between mode and SB-16, but
what it is?

ps on the same flatcable than this 507 Meg hdd is a Maxtor 7171 170 Meg
hd, and it works fine. Checkit pro showed that DSAA is an advanced
format whilst Maxtor is a rll-drive. Does this have anything to do?
