[Csnd] Midi-synth or Midi VST for Windows

Hello!
I am currently working on a piece that's for an organ that can work
via-midi, up to the point that it can be thought as a piano-piano player.
Therefore, I'll be using MIDI-OUT.
I am now working on the code and score. As I can't go to the church, I must
do homework and try things out at home.
Because of my inexperience in this field, my question is, therefore, if
there is any Midi-synth or VST for Windows (or even an option in Csound
itself that I may not know about) which I could use to try this things out,
in a way that the program can receive Csound code or that can be used as, or
simulate, a Midi-Out channel.
I have searched but haven't found really.
Thanks very much!

Is midiout opcode of any help? Tarmo 15.11.2017 12:54 kirjutas kuupäeval "sbogacz" <santibogacz@gmail.com>: Hello! |

I am using Midiout opcode to write in Csound. My question is if there is any program which I can use to try it out the way I will use it in this organ. In other words, having a computer midisynth that receives midi-out messages and therefore working as the MIDI Output Interface On Wed, Nov 15, 2017 at 11:58 AM, Tarmo Johannes <trmjhnns@gmail.com> wrote:

What OS are you on? On Windows you can use MIDI-ox to set up virtual MIDI patch chords. You could run Csound from the command line as usual, and then output to a simple MIDI synth. On OSX you could use SimpleSynth and modify the core MIDI buses. On 15 November 2017 at 11:22, Santiago Bogacz <santibogacz@gmail.com> wrote:

Rory, I am using Windows 8.1 Pro. Maybe I should then try MIDI-Ox? Didn't know about it On Wed, Nov 15, 2017 at 12:38 PM, Rory Walsh <rorywalsh@ear.ie> wrote:

You'll still have to find a suitable standalone synthesiser. You could try: I think it allows MIDI input. You could load your organ VST there. Btw, Cabbage is a tool that lets you run Csound instruments directly within a host, but I think it's a little too much for your needs as you seem happy to work from the command line. In case you are interesting you can find out more here: On 15 November 2017 at 11:44, Santiago Bogacz <santibogacz@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks a lot Rory! Yes, I had read about Cabbage and even downloaded it, but I agree with you that for my present needs, it's a little bit too much. I will try with that one you sent me. Also, another Csound user has just recommended me VirtualSynth, that as far as I have read, seems pretty suitable too: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Mixers-Synthesizers/VirtualMIDISynth.shtml Thanks very much!
