Hello

If you want to use a soundfile forCsound, for soundin opcode, you
should
put the sound file in a folder (ex: samples) and choose the correct path
to this file
in (choose "default directories..." if you are using CsoundPPC). That's
all.
For loscil, it's the same, except that loscil looks for a ftable
using GEN01 which loads the soundfile.

Thanks much, to all. Yep, I did put the file in the correct place. It
still doesn't work, though. I suspect it may be trying to do something
that requires the fpu, but I'm not sure. (stands to reason there are some
things that the machines with more power can do that I can't) It is only
that one thing though, so I think I can live without it.

That is interesting to note too, about the QT player being there with QT
2.5. It's been a long time since I had it, and I'm sure I never used the
player. (means nothing, I've regarded it as a kind of albatros because
I've had no use for it 'til now.) It is kinda strange to think of sound as
a type of "movie", isn't it. 8-)

Now is when the real study begins, and I appreciate all the help getting
started. I have put the quick reference summary from the manual on an
Obiwan database, so if anybody with a mac and Obiwan wants it, just holler.
I'll be happy to send it to you, or I suppose I could put it up on my
website if the manual author has no objections. (for those who don't know,
Obiwan is a shareware ($10) app that keeps a database in the background
which you can call up with a keystroke, and paste selected contents to
whatever file you've got open. very handy.)
