Well, you can actually access 'p3'=note duration from within the orcestra
file.
Then it's just as simple as defining the sustain part as S=p3-(A+D+R).
Then you could take this even further by ALTERING p3 in the .orc:

S=p3-(A+D)
R=0.5 (for example)
p3=p3+R

Now you will have an instrument that sounds at full amplitude as long as the
duration in the score lasts, and THEN it will extend when it enters the
release phase..

(hmm.. I'm in a hurry and, as english isn't my native language: this could be
a bit hard to understand! =D)
