I don't think there has ever been any 'standard' for pvoc files, at least as far as the header is concerned. In CDP we use WAV and AIF, with a lot of extra information put in proprietary chunks. Unix machines may use the snd format, or no header at all, or IRCAM. Word ordering will also be machine-specific. So the chances of a given pvoc file being portable are fairly slim. However, if you know the pvoc parameters which created the file, and can hack past the header (or lack of it), you should be able to recover the data, which will always (as far as I know..) be interleaved amplitude/frequency for each channel, for each successive anaylsis bin. This is one of the reasons for the CNMAT SDIF initiative, which will eventually provide a fully portable file format not only for pvoc data, but a lot else besides. Thanks. I figured it was something along those lines.. :) At 09:29 PM 9/24/98 +0100, Richard Dobson wrote: >I don't think there has ever been any 'standard' for pvoc files, at least as far >as the header is concerned.
