I=B4d be very grateful I somebody could explain me this obscure example
taken from the manual...
how do you get that 72-point value? ... 33*2 + 12/2 maybe ? ;-)
asig in ; get external audio
dsamp octdown asig, 6, 180, 0 ; downsample in 6 octaves
wsig1 noctdft dsamp, .02, 12, 33, 0, 1, 1 ; and calc 72-point dft
(dB)
If I use wsig1 to get the overall strength using specsum, is it someway
equivalent to the original signal amplitude? in db?

Try soundhack. Converts to most file formats, including .wav. Good for
sample rate conversion as well. Not to mention sample manipulation. 68k
version is free and will run fine in emulation on ppc systems. ppc
version is $30 I think...

Awave can do nearly everything. The docs don't mention Sound Designer
files specifically but there's probably a way to jigger it into doing it.

I believe that Irix5.3 binaries run on Irix6, but I do not have access
to such a machine. Jean Piche says he has it built for 6.3 through.
