The spectral datatype opcodes have been revised; Barry Vercoe gave me
all the code and I have incorporated the stuff. My logs read (inter
alia)
1998-08-24 John ffitch
* entry.c: Entry for specptrk not in agreement with manual
specdisp shudl have last argument optional
1998-08-21 John ffitch
* spectra.h:
* spectra:c Added spectrum opcode
* rdorch.c: Allow w op s,.. opcodes
* entry.c: Add spectrum opcode
1998-08-02 John ffitch
* RELEASE VERSION 3.484
What else do you want? The examples in the Csound book show how to
use them for pitch tracking and harmonisatipon.

ftgen is an orchestra opcode which one expects to find in instrument 0
(ie outside any instrument) and it takes the form of a f statement in
a score. I attach some manual information
==John ff
------------------------------------------------------------------------
ftgen
iafno ftgen ifno, itime, isize, igen, iarga[, iargb, ...iargz]
INITlALIZATION
iafno - ftable number, either requested or automatically assigned
(101, 102, 103 ....). A global (giafno) can be referenced from any
instrument in the orchestra.
ifno, itime, isize, igen, iarga, iargb , ..- input values as described
in the score f statement, except for the following differences:
Ifno - if zero, an ftable number is automatically assigned (101,
...) and copied into iafno. If non-zero, the requested number is
copied into iafno.
Itime - ignored, effectively the action time of this instr
(e.g. time 0 for header statements).
PERFORMANCE
ftgen - invoke any ftable generator, as described in the Gen Routines.
This unit brings ftable generation into the orchestra. Table creation
time is either at Orchestra Init (header statements, instr 0) or at
each action time of an instrument containing one of these units. Each
table may be automatically assigned a number number, which can be
referenced symbolically to reduce the book-keeping that attends score
definition. However, automatic numbering means that ftable numbers
above 100 should not be explicitly used. (A nasty bug I need to remove)

I did a Theremin sound using a pure sinewave, and another using
sinewave with 3 harmic partials to have the timbre a little more
spookier/theremin-atmosphere.....
For the pitch/amp variations I programmed Lissajous gestures
wich gave quite an interesting movement in pitch/volume....
you could use xin/yin using the mouse to do pitch/amp gestures...

I think I still miss their point, but I must confess I hardly understand the
underlying theory behind these ugens. I was wandering whether there were any
examples available online. But I think I'm gonna wait for the cs-book, since
I already have too much to do right now (I'm currently working on some
designs, and have on my to-do list to start using realtime features at
last...)
Thanks for the clarification
pedro

There has been a bug which comes and goes in teh area of tables; I
think it was confined to Unix. I have it fixed now, and hope to
release 3.49 very soon for Unix, PC and Matt Ingalls has it for Mac.
I need to construct some release notes and we need a final check-up
