I just stumbled onto this URL, which describes a way to make a very
simple 4- knob fader box that plugs into a joystick port. There's no
reason you couldn't use slider pots instead of knobs...
http://www.univ-lyon1.fr/~jd/groovit/Jbox/new.html
In light of recent surround-sound discussion, I thought this might be of
interest to folks on the list.
Best,
PW

musical generator" which can be downloaded at

Just a quick announcement to say that version 0.0.2 of my perl module
for creating/processing score files is now up on the web page:
http://members.tripod.com/~slinkP/pw_linux/code.html
This version fixes the more egregious bugs (aka "glaring oversights") in
0.0.1, adds some functionality, and looks suspiciously like it might
actually be useful for composition.
Regards,
PW

i e-mailed the prog (tabconvertor) to the people who asked. if you two
have any problems with the mime attachment, or if anyone else wants it,
its at
http://people.unt.edu/~jti0001/tabconverter.hqx
i just tested downloading it with nescrape, seems ok.
for those asleep in class, this is a mac midi to text convertor (and vice
versa) to a simple tab delimited format.
