SubjectRe: [Csnd] ANN: Blue 2.7.3
Hi Steven,

I am a new user of Blue, just downloaded the latest release and I'm trying to follow the "Getting started" section of the manual. The "Csound Documentation Root" entry field appears to be missing from the "Tools->Options->blue->General" tab in the 2.7.3 release. The "Work Directory" field is the first control on that tab. Where should I go to set the csound documentation root?

Thanks,

Joe Knapka

Hi Joe,

The manual is (really!) out of date with regards to documentation
root, as, looking through the ChangeLog, I took that out about 5 years
ago and just included the Csound manual with Blue so that I could
build features that required the presence of the manual. I've gone
ahead and removed that bit of text from the manual for the next
release.

BTW: I wouldn't be surprised if other outdated information is present
in the Blue manual. I've been meaning to rewrite it for a while but
haven't managed to focus much on this nor the video tutorials I was
planning. Pointing out this old information though tells me the manual
needs a bit more attention than I thought. Until I get around to the
rewrite, I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks!
steven

Thank you, Steven. I'll consider the manual more as "guidelines" than "gospel", and if I can't figure something out on my own, I'll ask you or the blue-users mailing list.
