hi again,
i checked the ambisonics webpage. some time ago, you could find a couple
of orc and sco files to b-format encode soundfiles. they are not there
anymore. i think i have them somewhere. i'll check it and post them, if
that is legal. any advice on this is welcome.
btw, they are for 4 channels only, not periphonic.
thanks,
marcelo

Sorry for the very off-topic message. My only excuse is that I am
usually quite good and don't do this too often (at least I hope I
don't!)

I posted this on comp.os.linux.misc, but out of impatience thought I'd
ask here too.

I am running a P100 with Roland MPU-401 IPC and SB32-AWE, which was
working fine with OSS-commercial on what was basically a RedHat 4.1
based mix.

I recently upgraded using a RedHat 5.2 CD, and am using the pre-compiled
2.0.36 kernel from the RPM on that CD. I re-downloaded OSS (don't know
if I neeeded to(?)), and re-installed it. Although soundconf.log and
soundon.log look completely fine, the MPU-401 driver hangs the machine
when it is opened, with an endless stream of data-send timeout messages.

I haven't heard anything from opensound tech-support, and from past
correspondence, I don't think they will send me the source code.

So, are any of you Linux people successfully using this combination. If
so, or if not, let me know. I suppose what I will have to end up doing
is to figure out how to install the OSS-free drivers, and to see if that
works.

I think you can bypass initilisation of
any opcode by this construction:

instr 1

tigoto skipinit
asig oscil p4,p5,1
     out asig
skipinit:

endin

actually, i found an iso image of the mandrake distro, which is
basically redhat with some additional stuff. the redhat dl got messed
up by being on a windows partition. i am now writing from a linux
machine! only i am having a problem with sound. if there are any
redhat/mandrake 6.0 gurus out there, please send me a message. i can
only get by sb AWE64 to play sound when i 'cat blah.au > /dev/audio' or
when the kde sound event manager play a sound (startup, shutdown,
etc.). any audio programs that i have tried dont make any sound, and
sometimes give strange errors.

Hi all,
I decided to make available my clarinet hoping to get some feedback from
the list. It sounds pretty good but really inexpressive, I need to
better model some performance related stuff ...
you´ll find a MIDIfied version and an improved (with better tuning &
macros everywhere ;-) ) SCORE version. They´re monophonic till now to
deal with legato passages.
You can get them at
  http://members.tripod.com/csound/

Any suggestion would be greatly welcome, specially from real
clarinetists!
Coming soon: conical woodwinds, clarinet wtih toneholes & mouthpiece...

Tnx

Rasmus Ekman has compiled some information and examples, based on this
thread and his investigations. It will appear in the "i Statement" section
of the next manual release. I'm not sure it covers all the topics touched on
by this discussion, but it is an improvement on what was in the manual
already.
