I should have said quasi-fractal.

No infinite regress exists for Liar's paradox (or Grelling's paradox) because
they are both resolved by distinguishing between object language and metalanguage.

This AM one failed to be recognized in a friend's player, yet when I checked the disk on Fischer, Sony, and JVC, sytems at a local emporium, the CD played back fine. Consequently, I'm a little befuddled. (I burn the CDs with a Windows.PCM.wav format.) On another topic I wanted to inquire about the pitch change parameter of diskin. I did succeed in getting it to play the example through a string of 12 pitch classes with accepteble results, but when I call it into a piece I get it 2 octaves below, and find it tricky to get on pitch. I've found some kludgey ways around the problem but suspect that I've missed something that's in the black box of diskin. It seems reasonable to use linear octave notation but I don't know what diskin expects; the manual says sig*2 for ocatve and sig*.5 for lower oct. etc. buuuuut. Anyway, Luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!!! As CD players get old and tired, they get fussy, and don't read CD's that newer CD players might. My Denon CD changer just can't play some CD's, and other CD's it has problems switching tracks. Of course, it can't deal with scratched CD's at all. See Big Black's CD, "The Rich Man's 8 Track," for more compact disk goodies. But now I'm up and running again, and I have been quite productive. =) I have managed to compile the latest version of CSound for the Amiga, and that without any huge errors or modifications to the source. I'm very eager to see an official Amiga-dist of CSound in the future, as I now believe I'm capable of handling that project. ----------------- But there are some things that I could need a bit help with before I start planning on a clean Amiga dist. I need to write graphic routines for AmigaOS, but I don't really know how CSound calls the different window routines. I have managed to get a whole lot of information by reading /winX11.c/ and /winbor.c/ etc etc, but there are still some things I don't really get.. Are there any documentation on how to write graphic routines for CSound, or do I have to look at the different window-handlers that's already implemented? ----------------- I have another problem with the Amiga-version, that has to do with the compiler I currently use /(gcc)/. It seems that the function "/tell()/" isn't imlemented, so all the opcodes that use external samples don't work! =(. Strange thing though.. All the other Level 1 functions are implemented.. Are there any major reason to use Level 1 files? Or could they be rewritten to use Level 2 (well, it's ANSI-C). I assume all the file-handling routines are very deep in CSound, and would be a *huge* pain to change, but if it's possible.. ----------------- The last but not least question: Where can I find the absolute latest and recently updated CSound documentation? I've only found the online version, covering CSound V3.47. I'd be VERY grateful for all the help I can get! /Anders "Pipe" Andersson, pipe@mensa.se (btw, If you use Amiga and have axx to a 030/8+PAL amiga, download the 40k intro "/Grid/" from the party ms2k-1 in germany and listen to my nice rendered sounds.. =) /ps./ /Sorry for my English.. Can anybody explain logic and principles of using 'ihold'. I'm trying to understand how does the famous Jeff Harrington's algorithms for DX7 work. What is the sense of 'ihold' there? I experimented with 'ihold' and simplest orc+sco but still have no clear understanding about its usage. Thanks in advance. Sergey Batov batov@glasnet.ru
