| Greetings:
I have placed the source package on the mustec server at BGSU. That
URL is:
ftp://mustec.bgsu.edu/pub/linux/Csound-3.482-Linux.src.tgz
This package reflects the great efforts of Nicola Bernardini to
provide the user with a far more configurable build. New makefiles have
been added, a dynamically-linked version can now be built (greatly
reducing Csound's memory footprint), and the build now includes the
entire source tree.
Unfortunately I have not yet received a patch for compiling Csound
under glibc systems. As soon as one is available I will add it to the
distribution. An older non-functional patch is included for study
purposes only.
Binaries (with and without X support) should be available within the
next few days. The distributions will also be placed on the Bath server
in the UK and on the AIMI server in Italy.
Enjoy !
== Dave Phillips

I have a completely updated Csound directory at my web site:
http://www.firstpr.com.au/csound/
The latest version of Jean Piche's fabulous *Manual* is online at:
http://www.firstpr.com.au/csound/manual/
This is the 2 June version "3.48b1".
The next project is to bring together the changes that Damien Miller
created to get Dave Phillips' 3.481 sources to compile under Intel
Linux with glibc (the new C library), and to look at the patches
suggested by Nicola Bernardini (on this list, 29 May) and John
Fitch's new source release 3.481.
The results will appear at:
http://www.firstpr.com.au/csound/cs-linux-glibc/
as I do it, so please take a look in the next few hours or days.

Hello,
Can anyone point me in the direction of any detailed documentation on
running CSound in real-time AND the application of MIDI to CSound. The
manual doesn't seem to cover these areas in much detail.
I'm looking at the possibility of using CSound as a real-time vocal
synthesizer, and updating parameters via MIDI.
If anyone thinks I'm mad at even attempting this with CSoumd I would
appreciate any comments as I'm only at the stage of investigating
suitable applications. CSound is only one of a number I'm looking at.
Thanks,

Significant changes were made to the section of midirecv.c

were made to diskin.c and wave.c. These have been tested

Well, the spiritual stuff was quite brief, but I like the real-human aspect
that the occasional drifting from pure Csound talk brings to the list.
Hey, Windows,Linux, etc. users can jump in anytime. As long as there is
sufficient relation to Csound,I think it's o.k. This list is unique in
what happens on it.We seem to cover a lot of areas
while being quite relevant and professional (most of the time).I've
rarely seen anything less than useful said on the list.

At the time of my previous post I was using Winsound 3.481 running under Windows 95. I downloaded Winsound 3.482 Wed. evening. It has no problems (none that I've
found, I've only tried one file) using .MID files. I don't know what flag I used--Winsound has a dialog box or something where you can select a .MID file, but it
doesn't show the flag. I guess it's probably -F. Thanks to everyone who responded for your input.
