I'm experimenting with filtering single pulses with a reson filter with a
very narrow filter band.
with (e.g.) this orchestra:
sr=44100
kr=44100
ksmps=1
nchnls=2
instr 1
a1 linseg 10000, 1/kr, 0, p3-1/kr, 0
a2 reson a1, 621.08, 0.5
a3 reson a1, 207.53, 0.5
outs a2*0.1, a3*0.1
endin
and this score:
i1 0 5
i used to get nice exponentially decaying sinusoids with the old perf.ppc
(v 0.3.2b0).
Now with perf3.47 beta3 i get a very strange-looking distorted sound, that
seems to change when changing p3.
I have tried the same orc/sco with bath's PCCsound also. Result: same
distorted sound. Maybe it's something on the source code?
Maurizio

Win95 Csound Realtime MIDI version now allows realtime operations with
console keyboard input (-L flag). Also powoftwo( ) function now allows a
negative argument. As usually, you can download it in my site.

Use 'loscil' defining a power-of-two size in GEN1 if you are using .wav
audio files (deferred allocation of memory is implemented only with
.aiff files).
Another choice is 'diskin' opcode (see manual).
