| Hi all mac csounders.
I have upgraded my perf recently. Up until then I was
using the .487 version. NBow I tried everything above
that including the newest .51. I'm trying to do some
real time processing.... again...
So whenever I check Audio In on the frontend and start
the engine my entire system freezes. I tried
different buffer values, different orc/sco
combinations.
Anyone else having this sort of problems?
I'm on a PPC 7200/120, OS 8.0.
Thanks.
Mike

Sergey, I see what you you are talking about. P3 is duration. How would y=

Any comments are allowed here..

Now the problem is reading the file itself.
Here, in attachments, are the files I'm using.
I had that problem solved about twenty minutes after posting that message=

Could you see what I did wrong?
It basically does not read MIDI events.
It's supposed to be in format 0. I'm not readlly sure which format it in.=
(The Midi File)
Any way, its part of a song I will finish after I get the ideas for the
basic
WAV file down packed.
I looked in the Orcs And Scores sample pack, and got parts of the file fr=

there. Instruments 2 and 99 should not be there, so you can erase them.
I cant solve this one because the reference manual is unclear.
The tutorial does not conver it, and quite frankly, I don't know how to
read
MIDI events from the MIDI file.
See if you can get it to work, then send it back, OK? Thanks.

Hello, and thank you very much for taking time to reply on this mail!!
I'm sending this to the global list, as I think there are others
who could have some interest in this Amiga-port, or that could
be able to help me with some questions.
The work on the amigaversion is still in progress but it's
getting closer and closer! =)

What do you mean with /'initial proportions?'/
Is it the aspect ratio of the window, or is it the absolute window size?

Thanks alot! That seemed to work! That is really something i've
missed from the old Amiga-compile.. diskin and soundin didn't work..
But now it does! =)
Now i have a few other questions and remarks.. Here we go! =)
1. What's happened with the function "oload()" from "oload.c"
used in "musmon.c" since V3.40? It seems to do nothing for
about 5-10 seconds now. In V3.40 I didn't even notice the
time!
Ofcourse the long wait depends on my *slow* computer (68030/50mhz),
and that the Amiga is generally slow on memory access.
but the speed difference between the old and new version is about
2000%, so something must have happened.
Could it be that PMAX has increased *A LOT*?
What did it used to be in V3.40?
2. When displaying a graph, should the program ALWAYS wait for the
user to click on the window before starting to draw?
If so, why? I think it's very annoying, but that could be IMHO.
3. Has anyone compiled csound in GCC using "-ffast-math"?
I have used that for my test versions, and it has worked flawlessly
on every score i've synthesized.
4. Is there something wrong with the makefile for "anal/adsyn"?
I can't get it to compile! I get the error message
"makef:13: *** multiple target patterns. Stop.".
I bet this has something to do with my "make" program, but
if I'm lucky, it's an error in the makefile! =)
5. Are there any documentation for using ".csd" files, or is it
just Me that's blind?

Hello!
I tracked down why it takes so long time to execute the
function "oload()" on my Amiga-compile.
It's because nowadays CSound precalculate a "cpsoct" table,
("aops.c", function "cpsoctinit()")
and it seems to be some heavy calculations involved..
Though I can't see why it should take so long time,
(yes, i DO have a FPU, even though it's not that fast..)
I'll try to optimize as much as possible..
(Remember, I have Assembler in my veins.. ;D)

Hey!
Thanks for all of the hrtfer help. It works fine now. One problem was
the soundin sample wasn't 44.1k, the other was just the extension on the
HRTFcompact file. You're right though, it sounds pretty crappy. Oh
well.

IIRC, the XYin window converts the mouse position to a value in [0,1] x [0,1].
The "initial proportion" determines the starting point. You can choose any
window size you want.
In my implementation (see http://www.bawue.de/~jjk/Csound/Server.html#windows),
I display a crosshair to show the current values.

I just draw immediately, but cache graphs so that the user can review a graph
which was replaced too fast. (See above URL.)

I don't bother with separately compiled utilities at all; I just run everything
via 'csound -U ...'.

Jens.

Hi,
I think the DX7 emulating orcs request "direct" definition of duration (p=
3)
in sco. Working with midi (-file) is in a "real-time style", so it is
impossible to send to=20
instrument duration of current note in the moment of its starting.
Your opinion?

Hi,
does anybody know something about
ftp://cecelia.media.mit.edu/pub/Csound ?
There were, for example, Bosendorfer piano samples...
Is this address still alive?

Ok, this is a reply of an old mail, but..
Why do you even care about a winblows version anyway? =)
I thought all serious people already learned that if you happen to have a
PC, you should run Linux, not windows! :)

Hello ppl.
I'm trying to see If I could fiddle around with MIDI in the Amiga CSound
version.
For this I need an Orc/Sco taht uses midi in, and works!
I don't want to mess with the actual source and hardware if it's the Orc/Sco
that's wrong! =)
So, now i wonder if someone could write a simple example that will output a
single 0.2 second sinewave with preferably the correct pitch, whenever a
MIDI note-on is recieved!
Thanx!
