Tone doesn´t work ! You´re right, strange things may have happened from v.3.482, which I have to use due to these
bugs. Also some problems with the Winsound windows interface...
I hope a proper fix will come soon.

I have found a couple of bugs with the PPCsound v0.2b0 and Perf v3.47.
1) After generating a sound i try and play it within Csound using the Csound
player and the file doesn't quite play till the end. If i open the file in
other sound players i hear the whole thing. it seems like a Csound player
issue.
2) The opcodes rand and randi seem to be somewhat periodic. i know this sounds
strange, but if you generate white noise and then run it through a steep reson
filter you can hear the periodicity. This greatly limits the subtractive
synthesis power of Csound since you can't really turn noise into stable tones.
We are finding this problem on many versions of Csound, including the Unix
version.
Are these known problems? They are happening on all the machines at Dartmouth
running OS8 so i don't think it is specific to my setup.
Thanks

i put in a hack to prevent this -- makes transport slugginsh,
however.
