| I think I have just found another bug: When having multiple madsr or
mxadsr opcodes in one instrument, all Envelopes have the same release
time, and that's the one that is largest.
I.e. when I have
kenv1 madsr 0.01, 0.1, 0.9, 0.5
kenv2 madsr 0.01, 0.1, 0.75, 2
kenv3 mxadsr 0.01, 0.2, 0.5, 5
all envelopes have a release time of 5.
Is that really what is to be expected ?

Hi,
In Windows it seems that the real-time software synthesizers use some type
of device driver to turn them on and off when needed. It would seem this
might be the most effective solution although perhaps the most difficult to
implement.

This is no bug. The release time is set for each instrument
instance. It is an instrument feature, and so may be changed
by each new ...r opcode.
And yes, the longest will be used. This is even documented,
but only in the linenr manual entry.

I see, well I only read the [m][x]adsr manual entry.
So I have a problem: I need envelopes with different release
times from the main sound(amplitude)-envelope for FM modulation
index or filter cutoff etc.
Wouldn't it be possible to add a further i-time argument to the
m[x]adsr opcodes that selects whether it's release time changes
the instrument release time (=default) or not ?

Hi list,
I am almost ready to get a new computer. There are a few different ways for
me to go, though, and I thought you all might be able to give me some
advice. I currently have a 333 Mhz Pentium II. My first inclination is to
think about a new G4. But I have been on the PC platform for so long (since
1988), I am not sure I want the hassle of "upgrading" all my software to Mac
versions (not to mention the expense).
So, my question for YOU people is this....Do any of you have experience
running a machine with "multiple" processors? I have heard of such a thing,
but I know nothing about how it might work. Can Win98 use two processors?
Or will I have to think about a different operating system? What does one
have to do to install Windows on a "clean" hard drive? (I am thinking of
possible just buying parts and assembling them myself). Any advice on where
to research this subject? I use Logic Audio, as well as CSound, and I was
hoping that by having a completely separate processor I could use one for
the OS and the other for the "music" stuff I do. Am I crazy? Is this
possible? If someone could just point me in the right direction (or turn me
away from the WRONG one) I would appreciate it.
