Just 10 instruments by now. I hope to put more stuff when I have more time.

Hi there,

Just wondering how to call macros with multiple variables. The manual tells how
to define them, but not how to call them. I've tried many variations on

$MACRONAME(A'B'C), but the variable separators i've tried don't work. Many
thanks in advance.

You must send an example + the warning/error message output.
Either # or ' works for me (Csound 3.53, earlier it was just # ).

#define tryit(A'B'C) #
	$A. = $A. * ($B. + $C.)
#

$tryit(kfrq ' kfrmod ' 1.2)

Compiles (with or without the spaces around separators),
given that kfrq and kfrmod exist in the orc.
Macro names are case sensitive.

Good luck,

	re

Hi,

I want to store a curve of (much)more than PMAX(150) in a table for making a wave.
I can't find any way of doing this.
Is it possible and how?

Thanks for any help.

Thank you for making these available. Please be aware that 2 lines in the
tubular bell orc must be changed to work with recent versions of Csound (since
maybe 3.484) because of name changes. Specifically, igauss in line 16 should be
gauss and ipow in line 40 should be pow. I didn't test your Karplus-Strong or
vocoder files, but everything else worked with DirectCsound 2.70.

Thanks again.

Very short strings begin to depart from the usual physical behaviour of
stringed instruments. This is because the length of the string is no longer
"very large" in relation to its other dimensions. As such it starts to behave
more like a percussion instrument - that might be an area worth exploring.

The other thing to bear in mind is that the number of audible overtones for a
very short string is small. For a string with a fundamental of 6kHz, only 2
overtones will be heard - 3 if your hearing is at its peak.

Good Luck,

Bob Douglas

I think the Melissa virus was the culprit. The disruptions caused by this were
mentioned on the local news here.
