Hi, I have updated Csound using the most recent 6.08 64-bit win installer - checked for python opcodes - on a 64-bit Win 7 Pro machine. However, I got an error message from pyinit >>>pyinit<<< Unexpected untyped word pyinit when expecting a variable. I figured it might be a problem with PYTHONPATH and csound not finding the python module. I tried changing it using a number of variant paths: C:\Programme\Csound6_x64\bin (this is a German PC) C:\Program Files\Csound6_x64\bin C:\Python27\Lib (as I saw Oeyvind suggested in an earlier post) The path for python is C:\Python27 (ver.2.7.3 installed) Anybody knows what PYTHONPATH should be? And what is the module file it looks for? Is it csnd6.py? I think it is a problem not finding the Python opcodes, not the module. On Windows this is call libpy.dll I think. Check your opcode directory. Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Philosophy Maynooth University Ireland > On 9 Feb 2017, at 11:43, Andreas Bergsland |

OK thanks! I got a little bit further it seems: Now it says: Import error: No module named site What can be wrong here? Now that sounds more like a Python path problem. It can’t find the module you are looking for. ======================== Prof. Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Philosophy, Maynooth University, Maynooth, Co Kildare, Ireland Tel: 00 353 7086936 Fax: 00 353 1 7086952 > On 9 Feb 2017, at 13:10, Andreas Bergsland |

Ok, so now both the System and User
PYTHONPATHs are:
C:\Program Files\Csound6_x64\bin\;C:\Python27\Lib\ but still same error. If it is csnd6.py it is looking for, I can see it is in C:\Program Files\Csound6_x64\bin I also tried several reboots, with and without the "\" at the end of the path. Any ideas? No, you are not looking fro csnd6.py, you are looking for site (probably site.py), that's what import is asking for. ======================== Prof. Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Philosophy, Maynooth University, Maynooth, Co Kildare, Ireland Tel: 00 353 7086936 Fax: 00 353 1 7086952 > On 9 Feb 2017, at 14:01, Andreas Bergsland |

I have searched through the whole Csound6_x64\ directory, but no file called site, at least as far as I can see. Or does the module live in another file? OK, I solved it finally. Seemed to be restart i combination with the right PYTHONPATH settings (Sigurd tipped me that site.py resided in the Python27\Lib folder) Sorry for all the fuzz, and thanks for the help.
