Beautiful project. I might borrow some ideas of you (and God) for Csgrouper (https://csgrouper.emilbarton.com/), specially styles and scales when they'll be available. I suspect your god is more schoenbergian than platonic; but in the case he were platonic, do you know if his ideas would have reality without participating souls? It's a question I've often asked myself about Plato without knowing where to get the answer.

Thank you! Many people see the coolness of the project but only rarely
does anyone see the beauty!

Borrow away! I have to warn you that, of course, my styles and scales
are very much tied to how I process data. But at least there might be
some good ideas that can be had.

Or probably more Cage-an. I accept all sounds equally that result from
the PME based on any musical idea whatsoever. (I do this in real life
as well).

The "Platonic" bit started off as a kind of inside joke when I was
developing the software. I didn't mention this in my description
upthread but the software uses whatever information the user inputs
(name, birth date, etc) as the seed for a pseudo random number
generator. Thus the music that is produced is kind of the Musical
Platonic Ideal of that initial input. We then modify this pure
artistic expression to meet our vulgar requirements as humans
constrained by culture, ego, etc.

I just started looking at your project and will spend more time doing
so very soon. Yours appears to have a much stronger connection to my
program than any other I've looked at while remaining different. You
also appear to base yours on choosing low-level commands/functions and
stringing them together which is the heart of my approach.

Are you still working on your project?
