Projects people make with Csound (website section)

SubjectProjects people make with Csound (website section)
Hi Csounders!

When we updated the web site somewhere around a year ago, we've added
the “Projects” section [1] which goal was to showcase things people make
with Csound, something like the openFrameworks [2] or Processing [3]
communities have. The motivation behind this was the fact, that it's not
obvious for the newcomers, what cool things are there made with Csound.
Now, almost a year later, we look on this section with doubts. We
currently have the “Create” section [4], which provides information
about different uses of Csound by organizing the information based on
such topics as, “music with timelines”, “realtime works”, mobile apps,
etc. We came up with the idea that we can restructure the “Create”
section, so it'd contain not only usage descriptions, but also
references to the actual things people did with Csound, like to mobile
apps, music made with Blue, VSTs made with Cabbage, etc.

What do you think about this initiative, people?

I think having a project page with so little projects listed doesn't look good. Perhaps we could simply populate the 'Create' page with link to projects there? And i wonder if we should change the 'create' to 'How-to'? Considering it contains lots of how-to information I think it might be a better page title. I think it would help attract new users to that area of the website.

Nice idea Rory! I totally agree that “How-to” is much less confusing than “Create”. So yes, I'll proceed with this and things from my first letter then.

I suggest we hold on to the Project page for the time being and see if this thread inspires people to contribute. Not sure people even know this page excisted as we haven't really pushed/advertised it before.

This, exactly. I had no idea that page existed and will send in my
project's info shortly. I want every single person on the planet to
know what I'm doing and especially people who are using the same
technology!
