Here is a recording of a performance from September in which I joined the Ensemble of Irreproducible Outcomes in David McIntire's piece "Shimmering Tetrachord". EIO is a group dedicated to structured improvisation, mostly compositions by McIntire. For my part, I played a realtime Csound instrument called the "E-I-Organ" running on a Nexus 7 tablet running in Mike Gogins' Csound6 app with an HTML5 interface, further processed by a Csound program called "Imaginary Harmonizer" running on my Debian laptop in a console. Some of the electronic in the piece come from a Max/MSP program running on McIntire's laptop. The fact that it's difficult to tell which of the electronic sounds are coming from which source was not unintentional. I recommend checking out EIO's other work, available on SoundCloud and on the Irritable Hedgehog label (http://irritablehedgehog.com/index.html). They are a unique group and they do great stuff. - Dave |
