Interesting about groups functionality being removed, I missed that
that was happening.  I searched and saw another group, Disquiet, is
moving to using playlists:

Perhaps someone will volunteer to curate a playlist on Soundcloud?

Alternatively, I wonder if it's possible to add things to playlists via the soundcloud API. I could imagine a little app that parses emails and posts tracks to the playlist. If its white-listed against members of this mailing list (with some authentication) then it should be somewhat robust against abuse. 

I'll have a look later.
