Dear list, can somebody please point me to an introduction on how to install Csound 6.07 on Ubunto 14.04? I do not want to try to build it from the sources but just do a proper install of the current version. I tried to install the package yakkety data files used by the csound library 1:6.07.0~dfsg-2 and then yakkety 1:6.07.0~dfsg-2: i386 What I get is an error by the Ubuntu software center saying: dependency not fulfilable: libcsound64-6.0 (>=1:6.07.0-dfsg) If I do install that, I get other errors of missing dependencies. I do assume, there is an easier way to do it, maybe via terminal and apt-get. Where can I obtain information about how to do it? Best, Jan Jacob |

Is tis a 32bit or 64bit versio of Ubuntu? I do not have Ubuntu but could
possibly run a virtual system. I do ave working builds for Debian 64bit
(Whezzy) wic I thought was compatable wit Ubuntu but I do not know for
sure.

I know I was getting installation problems with quite a few audio programs I was trying... running Ubuntu on a laptop with an Intel cpu. Some of these machines are technically '64 bit' but don't do the AMD instructions, sometimes need 32 bit libraries to work right. Might be the problem in this case?
