Hi all! I've not been very active on the list for a few weeks, been knuckling down with work, on the road to launching my kickstarter campaign :D I realised that I hadn't posted about the last set of examples yet. It's deep house, using the same random instrument generators that I posted an example of a while back. I've put some extra work into the mixing / mastering side of things this time round, so I think the tracks are starting to sound more professional: http://algorythmradio.com/development-updates/#house Let me know what you think! :D Pete |

Really cool that you're using Csound to create these. When are you hoping to launch the kickstarter campaign? On 17 May 2016 at 13:02, Peter Burgess <pete.soundtechnician@gmail.com> wrote: Hi all! I've not been very active on the list for a few weeks, been |

I'm working on the video and stuff now, and I'm hoping I'll be ready to go by monday. Though, I have watched some videos on youtube about how to make decent kickstarter video that have highlighted some extra areas I should probably work on prior to the kickstarter, so might need to add an extra week onto that. From what I've seen, you'd almost need a kickstarter just to fund the making of the kickstarter video! Some of them are so professionally done yo'ud have to wonder why not just spend the money on developing the product ;) On 17 May 2016 at 15:59, Peter Burgess <pete.soundtechnician@gmail.com> wrote: I'm working on the video and stuff now, and I'm hoping I'll be ready |

Yeah, you're right! Haha, infact that occured to me while watching some of these tutorial videos, they said to account for the cost of the kickstarter video in the money you ask for from the campaign, lol. There are also some more amateur style videos that have done well though, like the one for limit theory: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/joshparnell/limit-theory-an-infinite-procedural-space-game/description That's a one man operation whos making a randomly generated space sim, procedurally generating every single element of the content (ships, weapons, planets, nebula backdrops, dust clouds, asteroids, tech research... the lot!). It's impressive, even from the perspective of someone who doesn't play computer games any more. I consider his project the computer game equivalent of what I'm doing :D On Tue, May 17, 2016 at 4:28 PM, Rory Walsh |

I guess it's easier when you can simple take screen grabs of the game play! Btw, do startups have to pay some kind of income tax on this money? Sorry, I'm just being lazy here, a quick google would tell me teh answer I'm sure, I guess it depends on your country too.. Hmmm, I'm not sure actually. Maybe it depends what the money's for? Almost all the money I need will be to support me and my family while I finish the project, so I reckon I'll be getting taxed on that as it's my wages, beyond that I'm not sure. I should really find that out ;) You do loose a percentage to kickstarter and amazon though. Amazon is for some paypal like payment system. I only found out about the amazon payment bit recently, which I'm not overly happy about. I've avoided using amazon for anything for several years, and now they're gonna get a slice of my pie ;) On Tue, May 17, 2016 at 5:01 PM, Rory Walsh |

It's hard to avoid them! On 17 May 2016 at 17:21, Peter Burgess <pete.soundtechnician@gmail.com> wrote: Hmmm, I'm not sure actually. Maybe it depends what the money's for? |
