I'm trying to figure out how I an get my CsoundUnity package on the Unity Asset store. Their guidelines state:
Csound mailing list
Csound@listserv.heanet.ie
https://listserv.heanet.ie/cgi-bin/wa?A0=CSOUND
Send bugs reports to
https://github.com/csound/csound/issues
Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here
Provider represents and warrants that its Assets shall not contain any software licensed under the GNU General Public License or GNU Limited (Lesser) General Public License, or any other license with terms that include a requirement to extend such license to any modification or combined work and provide for the distribution of the combined or modified product’s source code upon demand so that Customer content becomes subject to the terms of such open source license; or (ii) any software that is a modification or derivative of any software licensed under the GNU General Public License, Limited (Lesser) Public License, or license with terms similar thereto so that Customer content become subject to the terms of such open source license. If I'm not mistaken, using Csound in a project doesn't mean the entire project must be LGPL. So if I license my C# code under MIT or something like that, then users of my package can use whatever license they want so long as they don't modify or mess with Csound. I'll probably have to consult the legal team at Unity, but I want to make as strong a case for it as I can before I go knocking on their door. The fact that they specifically mention LGPL does not bode well. Or maybe I should just go for it, and wait for them to contact me ;) |

I would suspect that as long as you don't upload Csound with your asset it's fine. If you can have users download it separately, this should be no problem. If you need to bundle Csound, then I think you are bound by the restriction. Cheers,Andrés On Sat, May 7, 2016 at 3:20 AM, Rory Walsh <rorywalsh@ear.ie> wrote:

Thanks Andres. I was starting to think that myself. On 7 May 2016 at 14:39, Andres Cabrera <mantaraya36@gmail.com> wrote:
