Debian : FLTK no longer working

SubjectDebian : FLTK no longer working
HI all,

Since my upgrade to Jessie (the actual stable Debian distribution), i lost
the use of the FLTK widgets, i mean describing the form of the wave, for the
orchestras with f-tabs ; instead (command line), i get :

graphics suppressed, ascii substituted

Of course my command line has no one option about graphics suppression, my
FLTK libs are present (and upgraded), a ldd on the csound executable gives
no one missing library.

If someone have an idea... Maybe trivial problem ?

Cheers,

Sergio

You don't have "-d" in your CsOptions, that will suppress them? You can also try enabling graphics using "--display"

I believe that would be "--displays"

I have noticed that the default (without and command line options) is ascii displays, so adding --displays will activate fltk displays as were previously the default...

Thanks Anders! You're right. For what it's worth, I'm happy with ascii being the default display option. I've never been a fan of fltk windows popping up out of the blue!

I completely agree.
When I for the first time in a long while actually wanted the fltk displays I realized that removing "-d" didn't get them back as I had thought, so I had to investigate a bit until I realized the default behaviour had changed, but I like this way better.

Speaking of displayed information, how come there is always a message in the beginning about 0dbfs and midi?
"virtual_keyboard real time MIDI plugin for Csound
0dBFS level = 32768.0
Csound version 6.07 (double samples) Dec 14 2015"

I set 0dbfs to 1 and later messages confirm that. I also don't use the virtual midi keyboard. Is there any particular reason to have these messages?

/Anders

I guess the Odbfs message is displayed before we read the orchestra, so it shows the default. The virtual midi messages gets printed when the plugin is opened. If it is there it will be opened always.

OK, thank's to your all : solved, just adding "--displays" at the command
line.

Yes, the FLTK popup can be a hint, but by the present case i'm learning
several things about wave forms, and the FLTK display is allways better as
the ASCII.

Thank's to everyone again,

cheers,
