recent envelope generator changes

Just a thought... could the warning the altered opcodes give maybe
include a URL to the bug and/or discussion about the changes? That
might help users that are less active in the discussions to figure out
exactly what's wrong, and possibly prevent this from becoming a FAQ on
the email and git-bugs list. A URL shortener like goo.gl or bit.ly
could help keep the URL small.

That's a nice idea. I'm not sure how easy such a system would be to maintain. But it might also be worth adding a 'threads of interest' section to the Csound site. This thread is quite interesting from a user point of view, and a developer one. It should make the list. I can think of a few others that would make the list too. We could even file them under unique categories. On 9 March 2016 at 22:11, Kevin Welsh <tgrey1@gmail.com> wrote: Just a thought... could the warning the altered opcodes give maybe |

>From my personal experience, bug numbers are really great. I meanwhile
include them also into todo comments. And I try to stick to the rule:
never change anything without knowing the bug number (means: I have of
course to write a bug for "trivial" changes *if* they affect the user
experience). The most important part: bug numbers are compact and can be
easily transformed into URLs - provided that you have one bug tracker.
