csoundQT 0.9.1 issue

Subject | csoundQT 0.9.1 issue |
I've just built the latest csoundQT yesterday, and I am having a problem with some of the keyboard shortcuts. The primary issue that I've noticed is that ctrl + s doesn't save, it just writes an 's'. I've tested some more of the shortcuts, but is this the right place to list issues, or is there a specific mail-list/website to do that? |

Have you made sure that in edit->set keyboard shortcuts, for save is set to ctrl+s? If not, what os are you using?2016-02-29 19:04 GMT+01:00 Peter Burgess <pete.soundtechnician@gmail.com>: I've just built the latest csoundQT yesterday, and I am having a |

Resetting to default doesn't help. Some of the ctrl shortcuts work, and I know the save shortcut definitely worked before I updated, because I use it every few seconds, lol. I was using my older version of QT just before I updated and experienced the problem. Encase anyone asks, I can't remember which version of QT I was on before, but I believe it was one I found in the ubuntu software centre, probably about 4 months ago On Mon, Feb 29, 2016 at 6:31 PM, Tarmo Johannes |

Hi,
First: Peter, are you member of the CsoundQt (or as the old name was qutecsound) mailing list? https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/qutecsound-users If not, please join - not that we could not continue the thread here but it can be useful for communication also in future.
I must tell I cannot reproduce your problem nor has it been reported by anybody else and I cannot see how it may result from the CsoundQt code...
It can be the build went wrong or something happened to the configuration file.
If you updated Qt, maybe CsoundQt is (partly) using the old Qt libraries? Or there were leftovers from previous build.
You could do $ ldd <your csoundqt binary> to see which libraries it is using and if there is anything strange (conflicts between the versions)
Did you do 'make clean' before building CsoundQt? (or Build->Rebuild in QtCreator)? You can also try renaming or removing configuration file that should be in $HOME/.config/csound/qutecsound.conf
For comparision, my shortcuts section starts with:
shortcuts="@Variant(\0\0\0\x1c\0\0\0G\0\0\0\"\0\x43\0l\0o\0s\0\x65\0
Hope you get it solved!
If problem persists, do you use QtCreator? Then I can see what you could do debug.
Best! tarmo
PS. If you get it working, do you know that now you can also install CsoundQt with 'make install' and use it conveniently as a system wide application?

ah! Sorry, you just jogged my memory, I ended up building with qt4 instead of qt5, because for some reason it was telling me it couldn't find qt5, despite having just installed it, so I risked qt4, and then forgot that I'd done that when it appeared to work. Maybe that could have caused an improper build? Also I did not do 'make clean' unless that was specifically in the instructions I followed, so if I decide I need to rebuild it, I'll make sure I do that. Bellow is the ldd from the binary. I can't see anything wrong with it myself, but I don't know exactly what to look for. The only thing is that all the libs with Qt are version 5, but I built with 4, so that could well still be the problem maybe? Yes, ldd output looks correct but it is probably the "half build" that caused the problems. I suggest to use Qt5, preferable 5.3 or newer to use the virtual midi keyboard, if you can. (it is mostly matter of using qmake-qt4 or qmake-qt5 form the first command). I am sure you get it running soon! tarmo On Monday 29 February 2016 19:57:50 you wrote: > ah!
